    Here in SE Asia we don’t have 13 (for superstitious westerners), or any number that ends in 4 either (that’s for the Chinese). It can actually be quite difficult working your way around a tower block in Bangkok!

      Bonkers! Do they have an extra floor 8, 18, etc to make up for it? ;-)

      Given that it seems to be the presence of the written number that worries people – after all a 20-storey building DOES have a thirteenth floor – wouldn’t it be simpler for everybody simply to SE another symbol, say a picture of a toaster, for the scary floors? Or am I trying to apply logic to a situation which is fundamentally illogical? ;-)
