Here in SE Asia we don’t have 13 (for superstitious westerners), or any number that ends in 4 either (that’s for the Chinese). It can actually be quite difficult working your way around a tower block in Bangkok!
Bonkers! Do they have an extra floor 8, 18, etc to make up for it?
Given that it seems to be the presence of the written number that worries people – after all a 20-storey building DOES have a thirteenth floor – wouldn’t it be simpler for everybody simply to SE another symbol, say a picture of a toaster, for the scary floors? Or am I trying to apply logic to a situation which is fundamentally illogical?
