ITWire has an informative and entertaining article today highlighting the shortcomings of the superficially-attractive Microsoft Small Business Server offering.

Without necessarily knowing it (ITWire is fairly anti-Microsoft, but not particularly pro-Lotus) he's made some great arguments in favour of what Lotus will be doing with the Lotus Foundations product in a month or three. Interesting times ...

So, the deal is done: IBM has acquired Nitix. The Nitix technology will become the basis of the new Lotus Foundations product line.

I look forward to hearing a lot more about Lotus Foundations over the coming weeks. There might even be a page for it on the IBM/Lotus web site soon.
